APPLICATIONS:

FIBERSENSE’S high quality fixed, in-line attenuators are ideal for use in any fiber optic network or system wherever a permanent and fixed degree of attenuation is required. They are available in a wide variety of precise attenuation values; and their special design minimizes back reflection at the attenuation face.

Large core fiber models provide the same reliability of fixed attenuation for high power or experimental systems.

Entirely passive in operation, they are ideal for regulating and fine-tuning fiber optic systems, or for calibration and loss measurement in both the laboratory and field.

Singlemode and multimode versions are available; including multimode models with a large core-diameter fibers for experimental and high power systems. They offer precision, reliability and ease of use at an economical cost.

DESCRIPTION:
This sturdy bench model Variable Optical Attenuator is microprocessor-controlled and provides a continuously variable level of attenuation over a wide dynamic range. The easy-to-read digital display shows present level of attenuation with option of input power level reading.

The desired level of attenuation is entered by means of a manual keypad option or can be controlled remotely by means of an RS-232 interface.
Singlemode, multimode and custom large core-diameter multimode options are available to cover all wavelength requirements.
